User Friendly Media Announces Investment in Mobile Advertising Business, Voodoovox Inc.

User Friendly Media’s CEO Bruce Howard and CFO David Lambert join the VoodooVox Board of Directors.

The Woodlands, TX – February 17, 2014 – User Friendly Media, a leading provider of media and marketing solutions for local and small businesses, has completed a private placement financing with VoodooVox Inc. pursuant to which it purchased 67,500,000 common shares and a secured debenture. As a result, User Friendly Media now owns approximately 40% of the issued and outstanding common shares of VoodooVox.

The investment in VoodooVox rounds out a mobile marketing product suite for User Friendly Media that includes a mobile app platform for small business, App Express and a digital loyalty rewards platform, Huzzah.

“The investment in VoodooVox technology enables us to provide platform services for ad serving, extensive analytics, call tracking and hyper-local targeting for our core audience of small business as well as big brands,” said Bruce Howard, CEO of User Friendly Media.

In connection with the terms of the investment, VoodooVox has increased the size of its board of directors from four to five directors. User Friendly Media’s CEO Bruce Howard and CFO David Lambert have been appointed to serve as directors on the VoodooVox board.

User Friendly Media Expands Executive Team, Names Shannon McBride Vice President of Sales

The Woodlands, TX – December 12, 2013 – User Friendly Media, a leading provider of media and marketing solutions for local and small businesses, has named Shannon McBride as Vice President of Sales.

McBride will be based in Denver, CO and will report to Bruce Howard, User Friendly Media president and CEO. McBride’s primary responsibilities will center on developing and executing growth strategies, with a particular emphasis on mobile marketing.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have Shannon join us,” said Howard. “I’m certain she’ll add enormous value as we bring to market the company’s wide-reaching mobile and digital media platforms and utilize her business development expertise to further support the company’s market expansion throughout the country.

McBride joins User Friendly Media with a wealth of business development and sales experience. Most recently she was Senior Vice President, Mobile Marketing and Sales for Toronto-based VoodooVox, Inc., a leader in performance based mobile advertising. Prior to that, she worked at Dex Media in various roles, including sales, marketing and product development.

Previous employers include, AT&T YP.com and Local Matters Inc. At AT&T YP.com Shannon was part of opening the Denver office and was recognized nationally by AT&T for her sales leadership performance. Shannon has an MBA from the University of Denver and Competitive Strategy Certification from Wharton.

 

User Friendly Media Names Jeff Stalker Regional Sales Manager for South Texas

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – July 22, 2013 – User Friendly Media, a leading independent provider of media and marketing solutions for local and small businesses, today announced Jeff Stalker has joined the company as Regional Sales Manager for South Texas, responsible for driving the company’s sales strategy and managing sales teams in the region.

Stalker brings more than 25 years of experience in advising local businesses on traditional and digital advertising and marketing products and services. His expertise and commitment to the independent directory publishing industry earned him an appointment to the Association of Directory Publishers board of directors, on which he served for the past nine years.

Previously, Stalker was COO of Texas Publishing Co. Ltd. and as principal representative for Texas Publishing and its sister company, Victory Publishing, responsible for a product portfolio that included advertising in print directories in South and Central Texas, business journals, magazines, website development, video production for websites, SEO, SEM and other digital media products.

Before Texas Publishing, Stalker served as director of operations for Gordon Publications, which he helped grow into a multi-million-dollar independent directory publisher.

User Friendly Media Names Greg Garrick Vice President of Marketing

Prior to joining User Friendly Media, Garrick was Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Manta Media, where he significantly increased subscription sales through online and offline marketing campaigns.

Previously, Garrick was Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Development at LocalEdge, a Hearst Media Services company, where he managed a team of 25 professionals in 90 markets and spearheaded the company’s digital marketing efforts. Prior to joining LocalEdge, Garrick served in strategy and corporate development for DEX Media, Inc. and led brand strategy at SBC Directory Operations. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications from Drake University.
